Erika Acorn Hired as Tempe Chamber’s Business Development Specialist

The Tempe Chamber of Commerce has hired Erika Acorn to serve as the Business Development Specialist. Acorn will develop and implement programs to increase membership and sponsorships.

Erika has worked for a non-profit membership based company where she was able to connect members with new opportunities and create programs that aligned with their needs. She brings experience in community engagement, brand development and fundraising to the Chamber.

Military Affairs Committee Plough / Young Award Recipients
Civilians and military personnel came together last week to celebrate the accomplishments of SSgt Alfred J. Serventi and Capt Howell and to honor the memory of Tech Sgt Donald Plough and Maj Truman Young.

 
It has come to our attention that businesses are having trouble submitting quarterly tax reports/payments online with the Arizona Department of Revenue (AZDOR) which has resulted in penalty charges for the business.  
 
The East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance has identified the resolution of this issue as a potential priority this upcoming legislative session.  
 
We ask that you take a quick, less than 2-minute, survey to provide us with some specifics to help this effort. Please know that your responses will be kept confidential. Deadline to respond is Friday, October 19th.

Salt River Project is offering grants for teachers looking for ways to engage their students in the classroom. Teachers are invited to apply for grants to enhance learning in the areas of math, science, engineering, technology as well as social studies.
